DNA Learning Center Nigeria Launches 2025 Summer Professional Course with a Call to Innovate

The DNA Learning Center Nigeria (DNALCN) kicked off its 2025 Summer Professional Course on August 11 at the state-of-the-art Advanced Molecular Lab, Godfrey Okoye University, Ugwuomu Nike. The program, designed to empower young scientists, began with an inspiring and hands-on exploration of cutting-edge laboratory techniques.

Participants engaged in intensive sessions covering Laboratory Equipment: Principles, Use, and Safety, Lab Equipment Handling and Operation, and Quality Assurance in the Laboratory: Principles and Practice. The curriculum also included practical topics such as Comparative pH Profiling of Environmental Samples, Sample Collection in Research, Field Sample Collection, Photo Documentation, and Use of Metadata.

In his welcome address, DNALC Nigeria Director, Prof. George Ude, urged participants to seize the opportunity to hone their skills and embrace their roles as problem solvers and change makers. “You are not just scholars but pioneers poised to redefine the trajectory of research and discovery in Nigeria and across Africa,” he said.
It is a two-week-long intensive course, and day 2, continuing today, promises more intriguing experiences as participants build on their knowledge and skills. The program accentuates DNALCN’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in scientific research.
