Prof. George Ude Champions Global Scientific Collaboration at Techno India University, Tripura
Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) played host last week to one of Africa’s most distinguished scientists, Prof. George Ude, Director and Chairman, Board of Trustees of the DNA Learning Center Nigeria, and Chairman of the Department of Natural Sciences at Bowie State University, Maryland, USA. His visit formed part of the institution’s Expert Lecture Series, a strategic programme aimed at exposing students and faculty to world-class scholarship and cutting-edge research perspectives.
Prof. Ude, a renowned geneticist and scholar, engaged students, lecturers, and researchers in a highly impactful mentorship session that explored international research pathways, academic mobility, and the growing prospects for collaborative scientific work across continents. His lecture broadened participants’ understanding of global research ecosystems, highlighting the opportunities that lie in strategic academic partnerships and cross-border scientific exchange.
According to TIUT officials, the visit aligns strongly with the university’s mission to build a globally connected academic community. Guided by the international vision of its Hon’ble Chancellor, Prof. Satyam Roychowdhury, Techno India University continues to expand its reach through meaningful collaborations, research partnerships, and opportunities for international exposure.
The distinguished lecture series for the week featured two eminent scholars from Bowie State University: Prof. Ude and Dr. Kishan Saha, a Post-Doctoral Researcher whose presentation on advanced genomic tools and their role in crop improvement sparked robust engagement from students. Dr. Saha’s session highlighted the transformative potential of genomics in agricultural development, drawing several thoughtful questions from the audience eager to explore the frontiers of biotechnology.
For TIUT, such interactions are more than academic exercises, they form part of the institution’s broader commitment to nurturing a campus environment enriched by global perspectives, scientific excellence, and cross-cultural academic experiences.
Prof. Ude’s participation also resonates deeply with the founding vision of the DNA Learning Center Nigeria, which is committed to shaping the next generation of African scientists through world-class training, research capacity-building, and hands-on scientific education. Under his leadership, the DNALC Nigeria continues to champion the development of scientific literacy, promote molecular research, and empower young scholars across the country through workshops, masterclasses, and international collaborations.
As the sessions concluded, faculty and students expressed optimism that these engagements mark the beginning of deeper collaborations between TIUT, Bowie State University, and the DNA Learning Center Nigeria. With its doors open to global partnerships, TIUT continues to position itself as a rising hub of international academic excellence, one distinguished lecture at a time.
